Located on the ancient crossroads between Europe and Asia, Georgia has a unique culture and landscape. But, despite the nations beautiful peaks and coasts, Georgia struggles with the pains of the past, and the hopes of the future. The small nation strives to be a good place for its people, and for its environment, but many things have held them back. Soviet Occupation, new Russian invasions, more recently, right after the Soviet collapse, two regions in Georgia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia have separated from the proper nation, taking away almost twenty percent of the countries' land, and many resources this resilient nation needs to thrive. These are only a few of the many challenges that plague Georgia today. But these challenges are not in vain, greater challenges will build a greater Georgia.
